Coming off of a 24-8 record, one of the best in recent memory, the Freeport Girls Basketball Team is poised for another strong season. With returning starters, experienced leadership, and new talent joining the roster the 25-26 season will be a good one for the Pretzels.
The Pretzels have wasted no time setting new ambitious goals, and they are confident that each and every one of them will be completed.
Coach John O’Bryan said, “Our goal coming into this season is obviously wanting to make a deeper run in the post season than what we did last year.” O’Bryan also said, “We want to complete our task of winning a conference championship.”
Starting junior guard, Paityn London said, “I’m making sure that I’m staying mentally ready for the season and making sure that the girls are doing the same. Also showing up to all the open gyms and lifting after school and just making sure we’re all on the same page.”
Starting junior forward and center, Keagan Huggins said, “A lot of the girls have been in the gym working, we’ve been taking a lot more open gyms seriously and we’ve been going on Sundays, and we’ve been training in the offseason.”
The Pretzels season officially starts on November 17th with that being their first game of the season, and their first conference game against the Belvidere Bucs on December 2nd.
