After losing four dedicated seniors last season, the boys’ tennis team is having a season of rebuilding with the goal of winning the conference for the second year in a row.
Senior Colin Helm, a captain of the boys team, wants to win all of his conference matches in the regular season, win the conference for the second time, and play well at sectionals to win state. He also wants the team to win the conference tournament for the third year in a row.
“I’m excited to play and ready to see what I can do for my final season on the tennis team,” said Helm.
Last year, Helm had an amazing season, ending it by winning the conference match, 7-5, 6-3.
After having a standout junior season, Helm is excited to compete for one last year and have the best season that he can.
Helm is also very hopeful that the team can do the best they can and come away with another team conference win to win for the third time in a row as a team.
At practice, Helm has been working hard every day and just enjoys practicing every day and having fun in practice.
As Helm’s long 9-year tennis career comes to an end, he has been working hard to hopefully cap off his career by making the state tournament.
