The class of 2026 first entered Freeport High School in the fall of 2022, and they are finally leaving to pursue their own dreams after high school. The seniors last day will be Wednesday, May 13 before their graduation ceremony on May 16.
Many seniors remember the first time they walked into the building; many were excited, worried, and scared to begin their journey into the new life of high school.
“My freshman year, I was scared, and I really didn’t understand the purpose of GPA and how it actually matters,” senior Meadow Reed said. “I also didn’t come to school that much, and since I didn’t really come to class, I failed most of my classes, and now I have to end up making it up. But now I feel great, and I finally have an understanding about life, and I’m preparing myself for college.”
“I felt a bit anxious because it was a big school and the start of my high school career, but as the years went by, I got used to the high school, and I started to do the things I wanted to do and started having fun,” said senior Dean Hartman.
“It was a bit difficult for me because I moved here from Montana my freshman year, and I had to get used to new people, a new school, a new environment, and try to make new friends,” senior Angela Gautam said. “But everyone was pretty welcoming, and I found what I liked to do, which was theater. But now that I’m a senior, I’m used to my environment, know a lot of people pretty well, and I am very social.”
These are just a couple of experiences that many seniors said they had here at the high school. Once A Pretzel Always A Pretzel!!!
