Students received their ACT scores last week after taking the test in early April, but many have mixed feelings about their performances.
Most students feel unsure about their scores.
“I feel the ACT was harder than the pre-ACT, and that the science section was easy,” Paityn London said.
“I got a 20 on my ACT, but I feel like I could’ve done better, and it’s hard to focus for that long,” Kam Bradbury said.
“The ACT was hard, in my opinion. I got a 19 on it.” Nolan Swalve said.
For students who don’t like their scores, they should take a look back and see how they were while learning in the classroom, according to Associate Principal of Academics Rosemarie Brubaker, such as if they were on their phones, if they were paying attention, or if they were listening to music during instruction.
Students can retake their ACT, but this time they will have to pay for it, and the fee can be up to $150. Highland Community College has designated times for students to take the ACT, but if you missed your testing appointment, they can charge you a fee. Students can sign up for a testing appointment here.
