Senior Samuel Viveros was chosen to speak at Freeport High School’s graduation ceremony this past Sunday May 17th held in the FHS gymnasium. Performing his piece “Make Them Seen” touched the hearts of not only the senior class of 2026, but also the parents, family, and friends sitting in the stands.
Speaking with Samuel before his speech about preparation, he said “I’m really excited to be able to have the opportunity to speak, I’ve practiced every week two days a week.”
Not only did he prepare well, but he also had an important message to get across to his fellow classmates and audience members saying “I hope it helps people see their accomplishments and not let it go under the radar”.
As he performed his speech the gymnasium was silent and focused on what he had to say.
Audience member and junior usher Kam Bradbury said “I think his speech was really good. It brought a good message that included everyone from all backgrounds no matter where they come from.”
Concluding his speech, audience members, students, and most importantly the senior class of 2026 listened to his challenges for the future and his experiences. As Samuel and the rest of Freeport High School’s seniors said goodbye to high school and prepared themselves for what’s next outside of FHS hallways.
