Freshmen students at Freeport High School are trying to raise their grades by winter break to pass their classes.
The percent of freshman on track, meaning they’re passing most of their classes, is 84.9%. This is 10 percentage points higher than last year.
Students are struggling the most with English and Algebra, according to Freshman Academy Lead Kelly Everding.
“It’s not that hard, but it’s hard when you don’t do your work. As long as you stay on top of your work, you’ll do good,” freshman Allie Goley.
Everding recommends students work on raising their grades by talking to their teachers.
