The Lady Pretz Softball team has big goals set for their 2026 season. They are a small team, but have the determination to stick with the rest of the Nic-10 conference.
To prepare for the upcoming season starting in March, there have been open-field and hitting opportunities for the girls to get reps during the off-season.
There is hitting at the Stix Facility on Mondays and Wednesdays from 4-5, and open-field/ strength and conditioning at Jones Farrar on Tuesdays from 5:15-6:15.
“There is a lot of work to be put in and we need to give 110%. It’s not going to be easy and we are going to have to work if we want to win,” said Varsity First Basemen, Grace Muench.
After losing our senior pitcher from last season, the Lady Pretzels have to start fresh this year and are looking for their starting pitcher on Varsity.
“I think our defense has the potential to be good this year as long as we don’t get in our heads and play as hard as we can and don’t rely on the pitcher to strike everyone out,” said Varsity Right Fielder, Madelyn Barr.
With new players trying out, the Pretzels will have to learn how to play with new teammates and really work together as a team.
“We had a young team last year, and this year we got even younger, so we are going to have to put in more work than most of the other teams we will be going against,” said the Varsity Left Fielder, Hannah Stott.
The first day of tryouts will take place Feb. 23 from 3:30-5:30 at Jones Farrar.
