The Freeport Pretzels Boys Basketball Team played the Auburn Knights at the Pretzels’s second home game of the season 84-48 on Dec. 5.
During the first quarter, Freeport played well until Auburn took advantage of Freeport’s high turnover percentage turned into Auburn’s transition layups and dunks.
In the second quarter, Auburn had a lot of fast breaks which made it difficult for Freeport to stop it. Freeport was taking good shots, but they weren’t going in. Auburn had lots of lay ups from fast breaks which opened up more perimeter shots.
After halftime, Auburn started to get hot by knocking down shots while Freeport started to get more behind by turning the ball over. Everything was connecting for Auburn. Freeport got some lay ups and shots here and there but it wasn’t enough to come back.
To finish the game in the fourth, Freeport was still trying to get points on the board but it was already too late. Auburn pulled away with the win 84-48
